Counselling support for anxiety, relationships and life’s difficult seasons
If you’re here, something may have been weighing on you, or on someone you care about. You might know exactly what you need help with, or simply know that you don’t want to keep managing it alone.
Considering counselling can bring relief, uncertainty and nerves all at once, particularly if this is your first time. You don’t need to arrive with the right words or have everything figured out before we begin.
Finding the right counsellor matters. You’re welcome to explore how I work, read about the areas I support and see what clients have shared. If my approach feels right for you, we can take the next step together.
How I can support you
-
Support for anxiety, panic, low mood, stress, emotional overwhelm and difficult life changes. Together, we can make sense of what you are experiencing and find practical ways to help you feel more grounded and able to move forward.

For couples feeling stuck in conflict, disconnected from one another or caught in the same painful patterns. I help couples slow things down, understand what is happening beneath the arguments and develop healthier ways to communicate and reconnect.
Learn More -
A supportive and relatable space where teenagers can talk openly without feeling judged or lectured. I help young people understand their emotions, manage anxiety and pressure, and develop practical strategies that feel realistic for their lives.

Living with chronic illness can affect far more than your physical health. I offer a space to work through fatigue, uncertainty, grief, changing relationships and the emotional toll of living in a body that does not always cooperate.

Support grounded in both counselling knowledge and lived understanding of lipoedema. You won’t need to explain or justify the physical and emotional reality of the condition. We can explore body image, medical experiences, pain, identity and the exhaustion of feeling misunderstood.

When you have spent so long caring, organising and staying strong for others, your own needs can quietly disappear. Counselling gives you somewhere to put down that responsibility, work through guilt and exhaustion, and begin making room for yourself again.

Gentle support following miscarriage, pregnancy loss or the death of a baby. There is no expected way to grieve and no timeline you need to follow. You can speak honestly about your loss and its impact without pressure to minimise it or move on.

There can be more to life than constantly trying to hold everything together
What counselling with me is like
Sessions with me are conversational and collaborative. I’ll listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and offer honest observations to help you see things from a different perspective. You won’t be expected to arrive knowing exactly what to say or carry the entire conversation on your own.
We can explore the experiences and patterns beneath what you are feeling while also working on practical strategies for the life you are living now. I won’t tell you what choices to make, but I will help you understand yourself more clearly and feel better equipped to decide what comes next.
There is room for difficult emotions, uncertainty, awkward pauses and humour. You are welcome to arrive exactly as you are.
I’m Jes Machuca, a qualified and ACA-registered counsellor offering online support across Sydney and Australia.
I’ve always been drawn to understanding what sits beneath the surface of people’s experiences.
Over more than 11 years of teaching and supporting others, I learned to listen beyond behaviour and words to what is really going on. This led me on my own journey to become a qualified accredited counsellor.
My work is shaped not only by education, but by lived experience. I understand that emotional overwhelm is rarely simple or one dimensional. Often, people are carrying layers of stress, grief, responsibility, burnout, anxiety, chronic illness, or emotional exhaustion that have built quietly over time.
Being alongside people as they make sense of what they are holding is work I value deeply.

What People Are Saying
“From the first time we spoke, Jes created a welcoming, supportive, and judgement free environment where I felt genuinely heard and understood. As a teen sometimes it’s difficult to find someone to talk to but she was so easy to get along with. Her kindness, patience, and empathy made it easy to open up and she always provided thoughtful guidance and practical strategies that helped me navigate challenges with greater confidence. Jes is honestly an amazing listener who offers insightful and inspirational perspectives and I would absolutely recommend her to everybody” — Kaelan.“Jes created an environment where I felt genuinely comfortable, safe, and understood from the very beginning.
I went in carrying mental blocks and challenges that I honestly didn’t fully recognise myself, and through her calm approach, insight, and ability to really listen, she helped me work through them in a way that felt natural and non judgmental.
What stood out most was her ability to create a space where opening up didn’t feel forced or uncomfortable. I would highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a counsellor who is thoughtful, professional, and truly cares about helping people move forward— Josh.BReaching out can feel like a big step.
