Counselling with Jes
Meet Jes
I’ve always been drawn to people and to understanding their why. Over more than ten years of teaching and supporting others, I learned to listen beyond behaviour and words, to what was really going on. I saw again and again how much can shift when someone feels genuinely heard.
Over time, people began sharing things they had never said out loud before. Many spoke about feeling alone with their experiences or unsure where to put what they were carrying. Being present for those moments and seeing the clarity that followed had a lasting impact on me.
What began as listening grew into a desire to support people more intentionally. I wanted to understand how to walk alongside others as they made sense of their experiences, not just witness them. That curiosity and care are what led me into counselling.
My work is shaped by both education and lived experience. I live with lipoedema and have navigated both conservative and surgical treatment. I have experienced miscarriage and understand the complexity of that grief. I also have experience caring for vulnerable people.
These experiences don’t mean I assume I know your story. They mean I listen carefully, stay curious, and avoid filling in the gaps for you. You are the expert in your own experience, and sessions are guided by what you need and what feels right for you.
This work matters to me. Being alongside people as they make sense of what they’ve been carrying is meaningful. It’s the work I choose and the legacy I want to build.
